This is the biggest flaw with any argument for these techniques - the premise that they are worth anything as far as improving security goes. Instead, they are only useful for lining the pockets of big companies and making idiots feel better.

To me it seems like the focus should be on stopping the terrorists and not so much the artifacts (bombs, guns, extra-lethal nail clippers).

Also government that actually follows procedures, doing its job and addressing its own mistakes would help immensely. You know, like actually stopping people with expired Visas from coming here like many of the 9/11 attackers. Also, making sure nobody can circumvent passport checks, etc. Basic things that government has dropped the ball on.

Real security is > than the illusion of it.

All terrorist successes are govt failures of measures already in place. Nothing to do with fucking up American lives with BS screening they have now.

In ALL cases the government had every ability to interdict the attack without any intrusive screening - indeed, without any screening at all just follow current laws but FAILED!
