Well, if nothing else I think she'd like us to distinguish between brutal assaults and other varying degrees of violations. A casual encounter between two drunks is socially and legally viewed the same as a serial rapist and murderer who happened to let one victim live. (in terms of the criminal charges for the act of rape).

We can do better, thought that's a difficult conversation to have and cannot start off in a way that trivializes more cases than it should.

That’s sort of the point, isn’t it. Being raped is such a profound crime that ruins a person for life, it’s just better to kill such a poor victim to free them from shame. This is an argument for why the magnitude of the crime of rape needs dialing down.
