A month into my Aciphex treatment and I start getting the same acidic feeling in my chest as I sleep. Coughing up what tasted like stomach acid, tre fun. So today I went back to my doctor and he perscribed a little harder pill, and he's having me go for an upper endoscopy.

For those that dont know what that is, they either put you out, or anesticize your throat, and feed a camera into your esophagus, into your stomach, and finally into your upper intestine. I'm looking forward to that.

 
I went throught thst procedure lasy year. Don't worry. Apart from some discomfort, you'll be fine.

If you truly have GERD the doctor will probably try a proton pump inhibitor (Nexium being slightly better than the others like protonix prolosec, etc) Those pretty much do the trick for most people.
