Gerber 15-Function Multi-Tool

A 15-function, stainless steel multi-tool that can be used for just about anything indoors or out. Sportsman's amazing Multi-Plier includes: needlenose pliers, wire cutters, a can opener, crosspoint screwdriver, lanyard ring, coarse and fine files, a bottle opener, medium and large screwdrivers and much more.

Although I'm looking at purchasing a Victorinox SwissTool RS, my friend had a Gerber Multi-Function and I liked it better than my Leatherman.

I have no experience with Leathermans, but I love my Gerber. The one shown here is newer than mine, but my dad has it and it works great. He did have one pair that that broke, but he sent it back and they replaced it for free because of the lifetime warranty. We've gotten a few pairs over the years and only one of 6 have ever given us a problem. Mine is an older model and I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with it. I highly recommend Gerbers to my friends. As a computer tech, I take this and a 10-in-1 screwdriver and I'm ready to work on just about any computer. :D

I don't recall the specific models of either the Gerber my friend had or my Leatherman (I lost it). I remember liking the Gerber much better, more comfortable to use the pliers and a precise locking mechanism.

Plus a lifetime warranty doesn't hurt.

they issue gerber to the military. not sure if thats a good indication of it's quality. i have a leatherman, but i personally like the gerber better because of it's slightly different design.

Depends which leatherman. The wave (which I have had 2, my brother has one (police officer), and my friend in iraq has one, love them dearly. The blades on the outside design and the locking mechanism is top notch.

Both good products IMOP, but some leathermans don't feel the same as the wave.

I have only used the Gerber once when I borrowed it from a friend. I have used several leatherman. Gerber feels better. The plier slides out and locks in place instead of folding out. You don't get the plier folding back in sometimes as you do with the leatherman.
Great Deal Thanks.

I carry a leatherman wave, I like it better. I had a gerber, but I carry one in my pocket instead of useing a case, and the grerber would not slide out if a peice of lint got in it. Still looks like a good deal. Leatherman has a new one out, the Ti charge, but it's $100.

Web site lists this item as "out of stock"... Too bad.

I carry Leatherman Wave, and love it. This would make a fine back-up-tool for leaving in the car or an emergency kit.
