I'd say that any time a former US President dies, they rate a national holiday. Its called "respect".

 
Unlike a lot of folks I was alive when Ford was in office.

Fords greatest attribute and the reason he is being so fondly remembered now is that he was an honest guy, He is one of the last that a mans word meant something where a handshake was enough.

He is the polar opposite of how Americans feel about politcians now.
