Hello, I need to do my freshman housing. I can't tell which campus is better they both seem really similar. Anyone have any suggestions?

Westside! The Woodruff dining hall is *slightly* better and the walk is a little shorter.. depending on where your classes are.

If you want to join a frat go with east campus, generally more action on east

Most freshmen live on east, so if you are one, that is where you should live. I spent two years on east before moving into an on-campus apartment on west campus. The west side is quieter, newer, and closer to the athletic facilities. But you should start by living with most other freshmen on east campus. This will allow you to make friends pretty easily. The traditional dorm style rooms are important to making friends IMO. Apartment style living affords you more privacy but you lose a lot of the fun that comes by leaving your door open all the time, people come and talk, etc.

As a freshman, I lived in Towers on east campus.

Warning: Brittain will will taste awful and will go through your system in 30 minutes flat. I can't tell you how many times I was late for a morning class because I was trapped on the crapper due to breakfast from Brittain (which incidentally is the only thing that tastes good there, besides the soft-serve ice cream). I couldn't tell you about Woodruff, but I've heard it's better.

True dat! I got so sick of both dining halls! I lived in Towers my freshman year as well. I lived in Field my sophomore year. My remaining 2.5 years were spent in 6th Street Apartments West (aka Maulding Residence Hall).

I'll be a new grad student in the fall, if you are in ECE, maybe I'll be your TA? :)

Another Towers dweller here. Its really quite a pile, but then they don't give a damn if your walls look like crap when you check out, because they looked like crap when you checked in.

"The Hill" is a nice freshmen 15 combater. Not that you'll want to eat the food at Brittain. Omellette's in the morning, pasta bar at dinner. Lunch make a sandwich. Got me through the year.

I transfered out after my first year, but still talk to my Towers friends today. Dorm life is fun. Just don't get caught drinking in the dorms, talk about an expensive night.

The only thing that's reliable in the dining halls is the cereal. Most of my best friends from college came from our hall in Towers.
