That is why even though we don't always agree, Dave will always have my respect. Back then DC was really popular amongst us nerds but normal people had no clue. Hell they didn't know you could leave your computer on but turn the monitor off. So he did what any nerd would do with a large number of pcs. He didn't hurt a damn fly but they ass raped him.

Dave is a good guy.
Agreed.

LMAO!!!! McOwned's cup of rage thread of the day.

The man was previously warned about plugging his car in at the school, ignores ghe warning and gets arrested/charged. Guess it's true, can't fix stupid.
The guy was told previously to stay off the school grounds.

Also, he was argumentative with the officer.
Claimed the officer damaged his car; which was shown to be false per dash cam.

Douche bag got what he deserved.

He:
1) Could have stayed off of school grounds
2) Not plugged in the car
3) Been polite to the officer; apologized and moved his vehicle.

Any of the above would have defused the situation.

My guess is that he was trying to save his money by spending the school's money and had it all justified in his mind.

Probably. "I pay taxes; therefore that is my electricity." Whereupon cop says "No, your taxes pay my salary so that I can arrest people who steal electricity."

I've seen many news Videos and articles on this and not one mentions he was told to stay off the school grounds and not plug the car in.

Do you have a video or article links stating he was told to stay off the school grounds and not plug the car in?

Okay, here we go:

http://www.11alive.com/news/article...-charged-with-stealing-5-cents-worth-of-juice

That changes the story quite a bit:

1. His son was not a student at the school; he was taking tennis lessons
2. He had previously interfered with the use of the tennis courts during school hours
3. He had previously been told that he was not allowed on the school tennis courts without permission of the school
4. The officer talked to him on the day of the 911 call. He was "difficult and argumentative". He made no attempt to apologize or to say he wouldn't do it again. He also falsely accused the officer of damaging his car, which had prior damage, as was shown on the officer's dashcam.

OK, there is more meat to it.

There was a person at the school that was out to get the guy.

The Police Officer could have just issued a warning.

Being a Douche then made the Officer and the Dept want to go after him.

Bottom line is the guy is now part of a Witch Hunt and this will affect anyone with Electric Cars down the road from now on.

Here's one that mentions the trespassing.

http://www.11alive.com/news/article...-charged-with-stealing-5-cents-worth-of-juice

Sgt. Ford showed a photo to the school resource officer who recognized Mr. Kamooneh. Sgt Ford was further advised that Mr. Kamooneh had previously been advised he was not allowed on the school tennis courts without permission from the school . This was apparently due to his interfering with the use of the tennis courts previously during school hours.
Ultimately, Sgt. Ford did make the decision to pursue the theft charges, but the decision was based on Mr. Kamooneh having been advised that he was not allowed on the property without permission. Had he complied with that notice none of this would have occurred. Mr. Kamooneh's son is not a student at the middle school and he was not the one playing tennis. Mr. Kamooneh was taking lessons himself.

if its perfectly acceptable to steal someones patented thoughts, we should not be surprised when someone is arrested for taking a measurable amount of energy without permission or payment.

Nah, sounds to me like the guy got just what he asked for. Had he not been a DB, he'd probably have already forgotten about the entire thing.

Me too. Very big, very bipolar, with every form of crazy found in any family. (Except maybe the Manson family; I suspect they are still a few kinds of crazy ahead.)

Two wrongs don't make a right.

The town/school is stealing from its taxpayer base. I don't know what else to call it. In my town, my property taxes are $5200+ for 5 acres and a modular home (basically a double wide). 87% of the tax goes to the school, according to the bill I receive. I don't have any kids, nor will I ever. I doubt I can go on school grounds, as I have no reason to and it'd probably be trespassing if I did. I called up asking if they ever have the gym open to the public (I play basketball) and they do not. BRB, olympic indoor pool, basketball court etc that I'm paying for but can't use.

That's f'ing theft.

"You got free education at other's expense though," I'm sure some will say. True, but I wouldn't have had it that way if it was my choice. I was the kid in class arguing with the teacher about politics and how its bs govt takes money from some people and spends it on others. Pay for your own ****.

Mr. Kamooneh certainly seems to be able to mobilize media to present his side of the story.

Though, if the above article is correct he is also a liar. Specifically, he wasn't at his son's school and he wasn't watching his son play tennis.

Its unfortunate that people like him can't distinguish between their private tennis court and their private electrical circuits and public school resources.

That said. It seems that the PD could have found something better with which to charge him.

On the other hand, if they made it illegal to lie to the national media most politicians would end up in jail...

Aside from this guy, the school should have some sort of lock on those car chargers. Why not a card swipe so that authorized users get access and other people can pay a metered fee.

Any idea what the cost of installing access control units on an outlet? How many outlets at a public accessible building? It adds up quickly and should not be needed.
