Georgia Cops Mistake Okra For Marijuana, Send The Big Guns To Man's House


Dwayne Perry of Cartersville was awakened by a helicopter flying low over his house Wednesday and then some heavily-armed deputies and a K-9 unit showed up at his door. They were from the Governor's Task Force for drug suppression and they were out looking for marijuana plants.


What they had seen, apparently, were Perry's okra plants and a shrub at the end of his house.


Perry says the officers ended up apologizing to him.
Patrol Capt. Kermit Stokes says the plants did have characteristics similar to marijuana.

I read the story. It didn't say they entered his premises. IN fact, they knocked on his door and asked him about the plants. He told them what they were.... end of story. The mistake was made because the helicopter takes pictures from the air. It's very common here in Michigan because the biggest pot growers will actually go out into the middle of a farmers field and grow the plant in among the corn where only an overflight can see it.

He's whining because, and I quote, they came "strapped" and he fears his 'reputation' has been damaged.

That vote is coming. 2 states already legalized it. 2 more have it on the ballot this november. in 10 years it wouldnt surprise me if over half the state legalize weed. At that point I suspect the feds will step in an finish the job.

I think the other drugs will eventually follow. These drugs minus meth were all legal in this country at one point. Even sold through the sears catalog.
