Georgia abortion bill would require judges to approve abortion in trial, then sign "execution" order

believe that after 3 abortions, the woman should be sterilized.
. . . and a man that has children with more than two women.

Abortion is an experience that essentially every woman would want to avoid. Why not focus efforts on strategies to prevent the perceived necessity for abortion?

1) Sex ed: including abstinence instruction (not sure how you teach it) AND providing information on safe sex
2) TV: turn that crap off, VS-chip every television (to empower parents), and/or impose an unconstitutional ban on sex/violence broadcasts before 9pm (the ban would include advertisements AND news)
3) Web: push all porn to (.XXX) domain . . . for you voyeurs you can get a soft domain (.sxx) . . . and the paraphiliacs can get (.gov).
4) Extend SCHIP or Medicaid to all women once they reach child-bearing age: provide quality, not barely adequate healthcare, which includes intensive counseling on options; term-keep baby, term-adoption, and abortion.

Every abortion is a tragedy but so is every child born into a life of social blight. I treat neglected/abused children all the time. I don't think they would have been better off aborted. But millions of children are suffering b/c they are not being cared for by their parents, churches, or child welfare agencies. Can you really defend the notion of putting 1-1.5 million children a year into a world that did not want them and has no means (or intent) of caring for them?

Why didn't we just let the South Secede when they wanted to? They could have thier own little backwards theocracy down there, and we wouldn't have to worry about it.

Interesting. A lot of people feel the same about California. Different geographic areas of the nation have different ideas and it leads to a balance of sorts.

While I'll admit that this guy is "extreme" from the current majority view, I'm glad someone has the stones to go out and fight for what they believe, especially when it is the right thing to do. I don't really think that outlawing all abortions is the answer, there are certain cases (like rape, incest, or when the mother's life is in danger) when it is the best alternative. But those cases are a very small part of all the abortions that happen (look it up for yourself if you don't believe me). The majority of them are, "Oh no, I (forgot to take the pill/forgot to use a condom/forgot that sex is how you get pregnant), oh well, I'll just get an abortion." Oh no, my kids are getting to be too big of a bother, I'll just kill them. Before anyone suggests otherwise, I'm not Christian, I don't even believe in God. And I'm not "forcing my morals on all of you". They are your morals too. In our society, killing is wrong. You go to jail for a very long time if you kill someone. Calling it "a woman's choice" does not negate the fact that you are ending a human life. It may be an unborn human life, but that is merely a matter of location. Call me a religious zealot, tell me "it's a woman's body, it should be her choice", say whatever you want. But it doesn't change the fact that there is a human life that you are ending. You can say it's a "procedure" in a "clinic", but it's still killing an unborn baby. I know people will still do it, but that does not mean it's right, and that does not mean it has to be legal. Say whatever makes you sleep better at night, but realize that deep down, it's all just excuses why it's ok so you don't have to deal with the effects of your poor decisions.

hmm. let us all pause and reflect upon that.

okay.

Calling it "a woman's choice" does not negate the fact that you are ending a human life. It may be an unborn human life, but that is merely a matter of location.

uh, location and being. would you call a handful of cells that you have to use a microscope to see, a human life? to me, it would be hard. but then we have to ask when we consider it to be a human life. tough questions, no one has the answer.

Say whatever makes you sleep better at night, but realize that deep down, it's all just excuses why it's ok so you don't have to deal with the effects of your poor decisions.

and if we're guys who won't ever get abortions?

and furthermore, why then, should abortion be legal in cases of rape, incest, etc? why should one crime justify another? why should we value the life of the mother more than that of the (hypothetical) child?

And on another matter mentioned above, what is so wrong with providing ideas on both sides of the Evolution/Creation debate and letting the students use their minds a little bit and decide for themselves what they believe is true?

Why? Because Science class teaches science, not some belief system unsupported by anything other than blind faith. You want to teach that, take your kids to church. If you want your kids to learn the current scientific theories, send them to science class. We already lag far behind other countires even without having to waste time teaching every single guess that people can come up with.

Dudd is precisely correct here. Creation Science is a misnomer. Studying creationism isn't science. Furthermore, you have to consider that all world religions have their own creation story. Which do you teach? I don't know what type of creation science people want to teach or how they want to teach it, but consider the following... Say a Hindu student, or a Native American student is in a science class. The teacher presents a lecture on evolution. (s)He then presents a lecture on creation. How does (s)he describe creation? Any referrence to a single creator may strike a blow against a students religion. A Christian may think this is OK, but what if the roles were reversed? What if we lived in a predominately Hindu society, and Hindu beliefs were taught in public schools without recognizing other belief systems? Our Constitution provides everyone with equal protection and equal freedoms when it comes to their religion. By teaching something like creationism, which is based upon Christianity, you are essentially telling people of other religions that they are wrong. You are, in effect, sponsering a religion. Not monetarily, but through FORCED indoctrination.

Now, this being said, I will say that I am a Christian. However, as a Christian, I also realize that the way to minister to people isn't by forcing our value system on the world.

Well, I was planning on giving some money to the ACLU for the holiday, but I'll support death instead. Thanks for changing my mind!

Were you an unwanted pregnancy allowed to go full term nik?

Why? Were you looking for someone who you can relate with? I was an unplanned pregnancy, but wanted in any case.
See you were wanted (lord knows why) But if you had been unwanted you probably wouldn't be here right now posting your nonsense. A perfect reason in my book for Pro Choice.

I do..I do!!!

I'm surprised that there are those who are in favor of this BS in Georgia. Hell abortions are just going to save them the hassle of lynching them in the future.

So planned parenthood, by supporting proper contraception and educating people about their sexual choices is supporting death?

I guess you are proud of Hollywood then? I think you secretly envy the South Red for all the hassle you give them. Seems a lot of embarrassment comes out of CA to. The Berkeley coffee intiative? OJ? Celebrities that are dumber than rocks? Absurd housing costs? Congested freeways? Freeway chases? Earthquakes? Lack of any exciting weather?

I really envy the place.

You are not with the times anymore Red. The only part of GA left that hasn't been Yankeefied is the extreme North and South of Macon. Hell you can't even get any good ole boys in a tizzy anymore over an interracial marriage or an integrated school these days. 😛

If that's all you know about CA then you are really the ignorant one . Bezerkly? Hollywood? Well I guess for a hick from the south that must seem like a lot but for us in Ca those places are just footnotes at best.

Ahh but you don't dispute absurd S. CA housing costs, the traffic congestion, the Earthquakes, or the lack of a good thunderstorm.
