Again, the mistake TM made was NOT carry legally that night, too. He was being persued by an armed man in the dark. Probably scared shitless. He had no duty to retreat. He could have simply shot him dead and used the old "I feared for my life". Only his side of the story would have been heard and a dead man on the grass tells no tales...

As it should be in America. One of the worst things about religion is it makes people think there is an afterlife and it cheapens human life to this pathetic point we are at now.

If trevon lived there woudlnt of been a court case.
"wouldn't have" not "wouldn't of."

Agreed. If he lived, there wouldn't have been a publicist hired to try to railroad George. After hours of interviewing (or interrogation, depending on the vernacular you choose), the police determined there was a lack of probable cause to charge George. Publicist led to political pressure to do something.

In the words of a more scholarly analysis of the case, "The case was not a referendum on race relations except in the minds of those who chose to make it so by ignoringthe weaknesses of the prosecution's case." This was published in the Regent University Law Review. Why don't you try reading the entire article to educate yourself. (I have my doubts that you're willing to read something that conflicts with your world-view.) http://poseidon01.ssrn.com/delivery...8088002088107077064068092096122019023&EXT=pdf You can see by this that the system attempted to railroad George, denied George exculpatory evidence and other evidence that would normally be allowed at trial and STILL a jury who heard the evidence found him not guilty.

amazing. Now kill a white girl and see how the trial goes.
Tough to know how the trial would go. Did she have a history of beating up homeless people for fun? Did she have a history of posing online with guns? Did she have a history of using drugs? (Oh wait, that wouldn't matter, since that evidence was actually suppressed at Trayvon's trial.) Did she cause at least 6 separate injuries to the person's head/face? Whenever the person attempted to sit up, did she smash that person's head into the ground? Are you tired of making up stupid strawman arguments yet?

I'd like to reitterate, for the purpose of educating you: "The case was not a referendum on race relations except in the minds of those who chose to make it so by ignoring the weaknesses of the prosecution's case." I'm pointing this out, because YOU are the one who has been accusing anyone who agreed with the jury's decision as racist. If there were a person in existence with no knowledge of this case, I cannot fathom how any of them could read all of the evidence and come to any other conclusion than that of the jury. Unfortunately, Zimmerman was convicted in the court of public opinion following a media onslaught that impugned his character. Hey, ratings. And, as research has shown, once people make up their mind about something, it's incredibly difficult to change their mind, regardless of the amount of evidence presented to them. (In case you're thinking you're the one trying to change the mind of others, you've presented ZERO evidence.)

If I killed some guy it wouldn't take much for me to create injuries on myself. Do you think someone should be able to ccw and creep around at night? Police have uniforms on for a reason. They carry their weapons in the open for a reason. Citizen cops with a gun in their pocket are a bad idea.

Dude. He had traces of thc in his system. That's the drug use you are talking about? Lmao. I just looked it up. Please don't bring up little shit like that and Zimman is lucky the jury didn't know Trevon was smoking weed.

If I were in Zimmerman's position, with a background knowledge of black youth 'culture' (I'm part-black), and with proper self-defense training as should be, I would've threatened him with the gun before he ran and I'd call the police, if my life was in true danger

End of Story.

I don't know who's worse here

The conservitards presenting themselves as the paragon of objectivity in trying to continually introduce more wiggle room into 'justification for the application of deadly force'

Or

The libtards who won't address the core issue of the belligerence of the youth that led to TM's response

Plus why was Zimmerman so insistent on following TM? He seemed intent at instigating an altercation.

With the Skittles and Arizona Watermelon drink, he was attempting to make lean. Like fighting and making opponents bleed, drinking lean was another thing he did enthusiastically and made social media posts and text messages about it.

He had 2 of the 3 ingredients for making lean and had just been denied the third one by the store owner: codein cough syrup. If Trayvon had been 18 years old (a matter of days away from 18), he would have been able to buy the cough syrup and he would have had all 3 ingredients on him.

Non-Emergency Dispatcher:
"You're following him? We don't need you to do that."

George Zimmerman:
"OK."

You:
"Why was Zimmerman so insistent?"

So between hanging up and the shooting, what happened?

Familiarize yourself with the events.

George was asked to identify where Trayvon was last seen so the dispatcher would know where to send the responding officer. Since George and Trayvon had been behind the row of houses at that point, George had to walk between houses toward the street to see which street sign he was closest to.

Meanwhile, Trayvon got to his father's home (possibly stashed some things on the back steps) and returned to confront George as George was returning to his vehicle.

Really? Source please. A reputable one at that.

So, you want to ignore the laws in Florida, the facts and evidence of the case and argue your feelings now? Play what if?

Just give it up.

Zimmerman is a free man, and Trevon is and will remain dead. As someone recently told me, we have a legal system, not a justice system.

The god damn court case. Is that not reputable enough? I don't understand how so many people can come into this thread and spout off their opinion as if it is fact when they don't even have a basic understanding of what went on during the trial.

So who instigated the altercation? Was it GZ or TM or threw the first punch?

And the autopsy showed significant liver damage from using the stuff. At 17.

Read Dr Pizza's posts.

Why would someone with a gun start a fist fight?

I agree with him and applaud his tenacity, but unfortunately from the looks of it there will never be a satisfactory conclusion to this, because only GZ has the proper facts, TM being dead. And the prosecution was fighting a losing battle from the start.

Although there's no need to include 'presumptive' behaviour, you're just projecting your own character on his to affirm your point. There are people who would very well start a fist fight knowing they have a gun in their pocket, but I am not saying that GZ did/would.

As far as I'm concerned, and as far as the legal system is concerned, the questions have been asked and answered.

Not guilty.

There was a satisfactory conclusion from what was presented in the courtroom. You just don't agree with the verdict so you ignored the evidence and testimony as many others in this thread (as well as the big thread in the Politics and News section) have. I find this absolutely amazing that people who should have some basic reasoning skills still fail to fully understand everything that happened and the evidence to presented to back it all up.

Go read or watch the prosecution's star wtiness's testimony. They even give more information that backed up some of what Zimmerman first stated happened. The witness even portrays Trayvon as racist but that is overlooked.

yeah, follow someone down the street, and not knowing who they are and what their capabilities are. expect either a peaceful follow or someone pissed off at you following them minding their own business and get attacked. that would be your call, except if you're a wimp carrying.

What? sometimes "following" someone means you just going the same direction sometimes. not in TM/GZ case though. Not in any of the questions/scenarios i posed. but you didn't answer them. GZ was following a suspect that he was on the phone with 911 about already.

You just resulted to calling someone a wimp again. Well, TM could have avoided being a an idiotic thug that went out looking for a fight against someone that wasn't looking a fight. But he didn't.

but you can apply that to any kid that never had a positive influence or a positive environment. jeez, had i not met a guy from Merrill Lynch and worked for him i would have had the same type of mentality any kid with no opportunity or aspiration has these days.

Yea, and if they were posting that kind of stuff, that conclusion would likely be accurate. What's your point? It's good you didn't go down that route. But others do. There are several, debatable ideas and opinions on why some people don't get/have some opportunity or aspiration. It doesn't excuse their choice to be a thug.

So you're saying I implicitly support Trayvon and would only be satisfied if GZ was found guilty? Like Dr Pizza said, it's an imperfect legal system but it produced the only acceptable result and the prosecution were simplying carrying out a charade to appease the bitter masses.

However you seem very angry with the slightest hint of speculation on Zimmerman's integrity. Him selling the gun could be to cover expenses, but it's a reflection of the lack of contrition.

Wow, you went and pulled something out of nothing.

In general, I am amazed at how people that come here and post can be some of the smartest and best thinking individuals I have come across anywhere and when it comes to this case, some people throw out evidence along with testimony and choose to believe some random news report that got it wrong because it fits the narrative they want to believe.

it amazes me that people turn a blind eye to the facts laid out in court... esp facts from the prosecution that ended up being helpful to the defense

what I also find hilarious (hypocritical) is that there were 2 situations:

1. GM following TM
2. TM, leaving his house, to seek out GM to beat his ass

They need to be looked at independently from each other because #1 does not justify #2 in any fashion since #1 ended the moment TM reach his household

So humor me, TM supporters, GZ haters... ignore #1 above. Let's just look at #2 objectively. So darkswordsman17, JSt0rm, Quebert, etc... explain to me how #2 should have played out? or for that matter, what did GZ do wrong when he defended himself?
