I'm curious, how many people have you killed in self defense exactly? How many fights have you been in? How many times have you prevented a death with your gun (assuming you could even qualify that). :sneaky:

I'm almost 50 and I can tell you the stats for me.

Number of kills in self defense (or any capacity): Zero
Number of fights been in: One
Times I've prevented a death or even a crime with a gun: Zero

I'm speaking strictly hypothetically here ()🙂 and for manlets w/o MMA skills.

The evidence in this case: George had called the police about suspicious individuals dozens of times. Zero confrontations, zero "starting shit."

How many of those dozen of calls had Georgie got in the persons face? Maybe all of them, just maybe all of them ran. There's no evidence either or here. Maybe Martin was the 1st to not run. We know Georgie has anger problems. So the 1st person to get in his face could have lead to him getting angry - makes sense. Both people here were thugs, anyone who doesn't view George as a thug I write them off. Since the shooting he has proven he's scum time and time again. And those are just the reported stories. For every one news story about him there has to be more incidents that go un reported. FUCK Zimmerman and fuck Trayvon both. But only one is still alive and able to cause havoc, and has been fully doing so. So right now I'm only worried about a run in with the thug that's still alive.

Zimmerman has had a bunch of run-ins since and according to the reports was the aggressor in all of them.

The police will NEVER tell you to confront a suspect. N.W. don't carry guns and get in peoples faces, well except for this one.

yea, but in this case, did/how did GZ start this fight? TM was home and then went out to look for GZ to confront him. how many fights would he have avoided if he wasn't like that?

I'll just throw in that a gf of mine was shot and killed by a cop. It took me almost a year to realize it was her fault. She was drunk, driving her dad's truck, and it had a gun in it. She had a bit of a temper when drinking and apparently told the cop she had a gun and pointed it at him. He pulled her over because she was clearly DUI.

For a year, I felt like a Trayvon supporter. No way she deserved it, etc. etc. etc. After about a year of staring the facts in the face, I had to except she kind of got herself shot.

But if i were on/in a neighborhood watch, yes, i'd carry a gun. supposedly that wasn't something he normally did. I would. As has been stated before, you can't trust a street fight to be fair and end when it should. That was drilled into me when taking martial arts classes. you never know how a street fight will go, avoid when ever possible.

You can go on about the number of fights you've been in. that's ok. if they were all street or school fights, i feel bad for you; it's got to be a shitty way to grow up. I haven't been any many fights by that standard. in shool, think it was less than 15. but i've been in zero after high school thankfully. outside of training and friends goofing off after work. And the "fights" in school i was in, were more of a scuffle in my opinion. Last time i was in a fight, though it wasn't really a fight from what i'm told, i was sucker punched in the side of the head. remained standing and apparently ready to fight the guy; but, he and two other people fled after someone went inside to call the police. but i have no memory of it or the next 3 days. very small pieces from that night. It's all i ever remembered. It's not something i want to experience again or experience a worse outcome. I will use anything available to me to come out with as little damage to myself as possible.

Nope but I'm sure I can find 768 pedestrians hit on the side or near the road or hell even in their car driving around looking at the neighborhood.
GZ could have stayed on his car & drove away after calling the Police.
He killed someone justified or not now he's trying to profit from it in a crass way.

I've been beaten a few times, you get better. While some people die from bare hand fights its extremely unlikely. I'd bet they'd both be in more danger of getting killed by a drunk driver while fighting each other. Your opinion is noted and I don't think you're a pussy or insane to have it.

haha, yea. but really, i would love to be in a setting where a fair fight would be assured and a ref was there to stop it if it started to go bad. I miss it. want to get back into martial arts. it was a good way to work out and vent some aggression. A street fight isn't something i'd feel safe in assuming would be ok and not wind up horrible or deadly to me.

I avoid fights. no reason to have them.

But if i'm in a situation i can't walk away from and fear for my life or my family's i should have the option of deadly force and the tools for it.

Fuck this misguided notion of being a "man" and fighting with my fist. lol
