Wow. I intern for a state senator here in Florida in his campaign office. Today, I was inputting in cheques into the Division of Elections database when I came across this gem from Kraft Foods Global, INC. Since it is a matter public record, I can show the company name. I've blocked out all important information such as dates, numbers, address, etc. (this is the internet and I don't know who will see it, eventually)

George P. Burdell signed a campaign contribution cheque.

I was floored! I laughed and my supervisor looked at me and asked what's up. I told her about the Georgia Tech thing and showed her the wiki page and she said "yeah, but isn't wikipedia so like anyone could edit it?" I said "yeah, true" and moved on. I just HAD to photocopy it, though. Wow, lol, I never knew a company did this.

When the campaign contribution becomes officially entered into the database after the deadline of 4/10/06, I'll post the "to" address, if anyone wants it. This is just too funny, though!

EDIT: For those who don't prowl the inet, here's the wiki entry about "George P. Burdell"

yeah, I know. The thing that floored me is that, honestly, I have a stack of cheques to my senator numbering in the hundreds (probably around 1k...cheques not amount) and this is the only one signed by Purdell. I wonder why Kraft would need to sign it like that and how many other people caught on to that.

In recent years his signature has appeared on rebate checks from Kraft Foods, Miller Brewing Co. and other companies. George was paged at the 1990 Citrus Bowl, where Tech beat Nebraska 45-21. Most recently, George?s name was found in the 1995 Inaugural Program, for the inauguration of Dr. Clough, where he is listed on the "Centers" page. George represented the prestigious "Center for Sustaining Alumni Life Long Learning" for which he is currently serving as director.

I knew I saw that he signed from Kraft somewhere. Infact, when I saw the signature I told her that I thought he signed Kraft cheques before I checked the company name. Is that on the wiki article?
