George Lucas won't pay Darth Vader

Read the article. It's talking about residual income, based on net profit (which they are claiming is nil) on Return of the Jedi.

I thought midichlorians were microscopic?
Nvm, I am showing my geek.

Sad at how lousy Hollywood is at screwing people out of money.

Seems that Hollywood is great at "screwing people out of money"

That said, what he means is "participations". Residuals are paid out whether or not the film makes any money.

It should also be noted that you have to have clout flying out of your ass to get a gross deal.

<--- Works in participations

Really depends on what kind of contract he has.

But claiming Return of the Jedi hasn't made money is retarded.

That sucks. He certainly did a good job walking and pumping his fist every so often.

Actually he was given lines to read, but they sometimes gave him the wrong lines in order to prevent him from leaking juicy plot details to the press. The famous "I am your father!" line was originally read (by Prowse) as "Obi-Wan is your father."

Very small and very tight, like Lucas.

lol i'd love to see the accounting on that film

We have the backend accounting of LotR a few rooms over. When we originally received it from New Line, it was some 100+ banker boxes of documents.

Just because I take a dump at work, doesn't mean I should expect to get paid for it. Esentially the same thing.

Huh? No way, he was given specific lines to read and while I'm sure they didn't bother reshooting if only Prowse screwed up a line, I'm sure it was still an important part of the filming process to ensure proper reactions among the other actors, to get the timing down, and to create the necessary head and body movements so Vader wouldn't look like he was just standing perfectly still the whole time.
