Is there a Foreman grill "alternative" with removable grill plates for better cleaning?

Exactly, if you could just pull the plates and throw them in the dishwasher, it would be the best invention in the last 100 years.

As it is now, cleaning one is a bona fide pain-in-the-ass.

My gas grill bit the dust last season and I really don't have the budget for a new one this year. I'm considering a 'foreman' style grill, but the largest complaint I hear is cleaning the mofo.... The Hamilton Beach looks good with the dish-washable plates, but if what Howard stated is true, then that may put a damper on things.. Anyone own the Hamilton Beach????

I have the Hamilton Beach. I have run the plates through the dishwasher at least 50 times.. they still work great!

You just use the cheap ass plastic and scrap away all the everything then wipe clean with a paper towel what could be easyer?

Damn.... I can't even produce a successful NEF thread. :Q

Who'da thunk THIS would turn into a informative and useful topic of discussion?

What would be easier is to pull the plates off and put them in the dishwasher, I thought I covered that.

Take a heavy cast iron skillet and beat a Forman to pieces.

Then cook the steak properly in the skillet.
