The American Dream

My comment? Carlin talks about the rich cock suckers who control this country for their own benefit, screwing the rest of us. Romney is one, and the radical Republican right wing are all, quite literally, Koch suckers.

Carlin is ok, you're just pigeon-holing yourself though with such limited views. You think the other major party, the Democrats, are any better? No. They are the same exact thing you hate, yet you some how support them. Must be the divide in generations that I don't understand this huge desire to be part of the team.

Actually, Matt, let me get serious here for a moment.
You really don't have a clue. You are not well read. You have no historical context for your critical thinking. It is pretty obvious from your posts.

You seem to have the same relationship with your critics as modern right wing talk radio. Just shout how wrong they are. Shout loudly and shout longly.

Perhaps you should really look into conservativism. You apparently are missiing the historical and ideological basis for it.

In a last ditch attempt to give you the most shocking revelation about your political ideology and critical thinking consider this. I am claiming that limited educated is a fundamantal tenet of Conservative thought and that perhaps the most important ideological reason is that it leads to disastisfaction with the economic and social status quo.

Now think about that. I am making a very clear, very distinct and very definitive statement. It should be easy to disprove. Try doing some research on the subject. I'd say go back a hundred or so years.

You are beyond pathetic. You are a troll, a hack and the poster child for the extreme left wing. You have no clue what is really wrong with America's education system.

I would say you have proven my point.

That's the thing....
It matters where the wealth came from. Romney got an inheritance from his father some of which was probably used to start up Bain along with money from perhaps some other questionable sources.

While Kerry got an inheritance when his father died and a lot of his wealth is attributable to marrying someone richer than him.

Of course John Kerry perhaps has benefited from other shady deals. Time will tell.

As for the George Carlin rant. Well if you accept it as just a joke then you can I guess ding the OP for naming Koch.

If you take it as a glimmer of the truth disguised as humor (because if you tell people the truth you better make it funny) then naming the Koch brothers is a valid point since some say that they were involved in the citizen's united case.

That is how you are going to spin it? Kerry married into wealth while Romney built it?
At the end of the day Kerry would had been the most wealthy president to sit in the office and Perknose couldnt wait to see it. So his faux rage about Romneys wealth is really stupid.

He's right of course, lobbyists do own this country. The wantonly ignorant (most of America) still think that their vote actually matters; that, for example, republican vs democrat is something other than a silly game that is thrown to the masses to occupy themselves.

The two party system is a facade. It's one party and it does the bidding of the super pacs and whoever is paying for them.

They're totally screwing the public, sure. But "as well" as the Republicans screw? I simply need to see how you rate these things, because if the screwing is meant to be dry and forced and painful, then Republicans own that experience. If it's supposed to be seductive and have you convinced it was all your idea in the first place... well, sir, that's Democrats.

How do you like your screwing?

Lol, sounds like the Democrat party as well. Not all people on welfare vote Republican and Kerry, Pelosi and many others are far from poor.

Oh, I agree. As someone stated earlier in this thread, the two party system is an illusion. They're all in the pockets of the corporations and billionaires. What's truly disturbing is how many people treat politics as if it's a sport that has no impact on everyone's lives.

-snip-

No. Romney refused his inheritance. He donated the entire amount to a BYU scholarship program.

I was working for an international accounting firm in Miami back in 1984 when the article said Romney was raising money for Bain Capital. Nothing fishy about the foreign banks mentioned. Back then, and perhaps even today, in many South American countries it was illegal to invest outside of your country under penalty of death and/or imprisonment. But given the political instability and dictatorship type govts many wanted their money out of their country. If you managed to get it out, you put it in a bank where the country's laws assured confidentiality, that is, if you wanted to live.

An awful lot of Miami real estate projects were financed that way.

I love you, Perknose.

Why are all the rightwing-bootlicks posting in this thread? Isn't there an active thread about muslims or guns or the gubermint or how the devil put dinosaur a boner in the desert? That's why those threads are there, specifically placed like a yellowjack trap for the mentally impaired.

Those threads are calling. Go quickly, before its too late!
