i think its also important to note how times have changed and how simply tossing in a "god and jesus bless us" at the end of a statement/speech (or making it the subject of a "pep talk" as it were) isnt really standard practice anymore. now, im sure they did believe in jesus but it also seems a pretty stable and routine way to end.
but proving that other people prayed doesnt mean you will make people feel better about bushs religious beliefs. i dont think people care if he happens to share a number of common traits with jesus himself (although he doesnt), that doesnt make him a good leader in their eyes, thats not going to sway anyone nor does it seem particularly relevant.
