I wouldn't count Kerry out. You seem to forget that popular vote DOESN"T MATTER. Battleground states are what matters. Key issue in battleground states: ECONOMY, not national security.

I'm not saying the Republicans won't see a bounce from this convention. It was MASTERFULLY done, absolute political brilliance. But, people will forget this convention, the stark reality of the world will hit them and they will realize they are stuck with two choices: stay with Bush and hope he can fix things or try a change of direction with John Kerry. Kerry needs to convince people his way of doing things will be bettter, and he just hasn't done it.

For the life of me, I just can't understand what the hell is wrong with John Kerry and his campaign advisors. He's got all the firepower and ammunition to literally rip Bush to shreds on the economy, on Iraq, and even on national security. Yet, he just continues to fail on every opportunity. Tonight, he had a chance to really pull himself out of the hole he's been in, but again he just didn't deliver the goods. This spells bad news for Democrats, and they really need to shake up both John Kerry and his dismal campaign. I suggest hiring a Paul Begala type figure, or someone with the firepower to reenergize Kerry and his campaign. He just seems lifeless out there, and he's letting the Republicans stomp all over him. I'll be honest, I'm scared at this point that Kerry won't recover from this attack. Hopefully he can surprise me.

Its apparent that the Bush campaign is scared of Kerry and Edwards. The Republicans have nothing to run on so they just attack Kerry and Edwards. This is evident by the number of times they mention Kerry's name during the RNC. They are using scare tactics to scare the public by telling voters what they think Kerry will do in the fight against terrorism if elected. They are trying to portray him as soft on terrorism and defense. Its funny that the Republicans were embracing Zell Miller before he gave his speech, find out after his speech that it was getting negative feedback, and then try and distance themselves from him.

You see, educated people like you and me can see through the political bullsh!t. But the average American either cannot, or just doesn't care enough to do so. That's what I'm worried about, the average American getting the wrong idea about the Democratic party and John Kerry.

Actually incumbents rarely like to debate, they have much to lose and little to gain. Kinda like the football analogy. Strong speech.... It's amazing people would allow the President to recast himselfs as "compassionate" after what we've witnessed the last 4 years. The terms speaks for itself. No amount of window dressing can change that.

Of course, only a complete partisan would think that 9/11 was some flash in the pan and that the president shouldn't campaign on his positions on it.

The part I liked best was the Big Lie routine about the events leading up to the invasion of Iraq- how they were a threat to the US, and about how Dubya gave him one last chance to comply with the UN resolutions...

And the bit CsG has been denying most stridently- claiming that Bush policies are, indeed, responsible for the growth in home ownership.

And he failed to tell us how he was going to pay for all his new social programs, wouldn't touch the deficits with a pole, and sorta avoided the name of OBL...

It was, however, the first time that he acknowledged, even obliquely, that Saudi reforms might have some bearing in the WoT. Didn't mention Saudi or Kuwaiti democracy, though, even though he puffed it up bigtime for Iraqis and Afghans...

About what I'd expected- maintaining the illusion for the faithful. I doubt many were swayed.

The Fact is Kerry is For Balancing the Budget, something Bush has been Incapable of doing, infact the deficit spending of this president is Very irresponsible, combined with his "Liberalesque" new massive government spending programs. This is Whay I plan on voting for John Kerry. Because or Gop controlled congress will hold him to his word of balancing the budget. Energy costs
Quality jobs
Education costs

I want Kerry to come out slugging. If he's going down, he needs to go down like a man, fighting. God help us if he stumbles as badly as Mondale or Dukakis.... They both ended up looking like complete wusses, particularly Mondale.
