I'm programming a php guestbook/email contact form in flash, I looked over geocities and it doesn't specify if they allow php, does anyone here know...

And please, no 'get off geocities' because i'm messing around right now.

Many, many members would likely volunteer a bit of space for a fledgling programmer.

(Or opt for something along the lines of Dreamhost, which runs $9.24 a year, including a domain.)

1.) Create a file test.php
2.) Insert text <?phpinfo()?>
3.) navigate to test.php
4.) Learn to post in right forum
5.) ...
6.) PROFIT!

Correct answer.

Domain + Web Hosting = $9.24/yr is the winner.

$9.24 per YEAR not per month.

He's emphasizing a year...not correcting anyone.

Ross isn't confused; he's restating to make a point. Many webhosts cost right around $10 as well, but they're per month not per year. By going with this per-year option, you're paying like 1/12th of what you would typically pay for similar services.

Precisely.

Not to mention he was giving The RossMAN Seal of Approval?, which web hosts everywhere would sell their children for.

Unfortunately you can't be sure what it will cost you after the first year at Dreamhost 🙁
There are so many budget hosts these days that is almost inconsequential (as one could simply transfer to a new host). Also, considering the nature of CasioTech's needs, in a year it may not matter.

Am I just too dumb to see the insult here? 😕

Who knows, I may be dead, or, a light saber may cut off my hands, rendering me a useless programmer.

No, I don't see it either, and I'd like to think that neither of us are dumb.

I CAN be serious, you know. And I was.

In a year, CasioTech may have different needs or have found hosting elsewhere.
