There are bunch of places like that in the northern Va area. I forget what they are called (Gentleman's Barber Co. or something like that). I used to get my hair cut on Sunday's because they would have free wings and every game on TV. Pretty awesome. And yes, they were especially careful to keep the food away from the loose hair.

There's a place here that is run by a bunch of old Greek or Italian guys. The shaves are all done with straight razors of course, and they have Playboys sitting around for you to read etc. Apparently it's pretty neat.

I just go to the local barber for a shave and trim. 3 old dudes sitting in a retro-looking place. It's neat.

Will go again. She waxed the eyebrows and I felt a little bit of man card getting snipped. But the head and shoulder massage was worth it.

Word to the wise, when you have alcohol running and pooling on your closed eyes, don't open your eyes. :(

They opened a place like that near me called "the lodge" and it's decor is like some mountain lodge for men.

All the hair cutters are above average attractive women also but it cost $35 for the cheapest hair cut they offered.

Screw that.

I was stationed in the Balkans and always got a kick out of getting a haircut there. When I'm home in the States, I clip my own hair.

In the Balkans, I'll pay the $3 plus $2 tip for a weekly cut. After the girl clips your hair, she nestles your head between her bosoms and slowly, ever so slowly, trims with scissors. Then, with a heavily accented Bond-girl type question, "Alkoohool?" A nod will get you a scalp and shoulder massage for 5 minutes. Nice.

I went to Bulgaria and had some amazingly hot masseuse for 75 minutes for about $40. Nothing raunchy but amazing still. I went the next day and was scheduled with another girl who teased me mercilessly for an hour. Good times.

The "gentlemen's cut" was a cut, head massage with smelly stuff, straight razor the neck, shoulder massage - 20 bucks (10 bucks off because of the alcohol in the eyes). Shave extra 10 = 30 bucks.

35 bucks out the door with tip. Beer is complimentary. Will go again. You can walk in any time for a touch up for free.

I miss the old days. When I was growing up hair cuts were $3.50 and eventually went to $5 after 2 price raises. Barber shops were the best. You would get a cut and there would be 4-5 folks in there at all times...business was pretty busy. Now, prices are $7.

The city I currently live in, everyone charges at least $10, but most $12. I've been known to give myself a haircut with clippers just for the heck of it. It's rare that they earn their money because I usually get my hair cut pretty short.

Going to one of those places is about the service, but part of being a real man is not requiring anyone to cater to me. For $27 a cut, there better be a hand job involved from a really hot female or a midget.

I agree, it's really all about service. The difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is about 2 weeks.
