Ok, listen up!!! We have ladies on this forum. We will not tolerate any women or men being referred to as genitalia. (you know the words). It is unacceptable and demeaning, not to mention that it sheds light on the absolute immaturity of the poster. Anyone using such words to any member will be banned hard...possibly forever. Don't test it. It's a "Fail Only" test.

Thank you for keeping this forum a reasonably decent place.

I agree totally. Wouldn't it be great if we were an instrument of developing tact in the technical young ones that frequented our boards? Truly, it would be a service to not only the posterd, but also the potential (although not imminent) spouses of such techies.

Dear Mod, I question the title. They are no Gentlemen if they do as noted. A Gentlemen would not do that. So freaking sad. If they have no respect and hide there poor maaners in their believe that they can say anything on the internet, banisment is too good for them.

I agree as well.

In essence, what is being said is that this is a forum that expects a certain degree of civility, maturity, and intelligence.

Besides, there are much better ways to insult others than to use profanity! 😀

In all seriousness, this is a welcome, and, IMHO, long overdue notice. Many of the comments I see towards women of this forum are downright creepy. Some of these people act like they've never seen a woman before, and fuel the stereotype that this forum is a bunch of hormonally challenged pimple farmers.

I think this a great idea. I always worry about swear words popping up if I open an OT thread a work. I think this good for male forum mem... er users as well.
 
I couldn't agree more, and I too am glad this issue is being addressed.

While I've never been personally insulted, there's a definite aura of sexism 'round these parts. I understand the male/female ratio isn't even close to being even, and that some guys around here have had really bad experiences with the opposite sex, but that doesn't mean the women who are here should have to put up with the derogatory comments I've seen flying around.

I have been hoping for something like this for a long. If there is a certain air of decorum around here, maybe we can start to understand one another more. Some of these negative views can be replaced by positive views.

Hostility, negative comments, immature attitudes will only get you so far, and things will never change unless we do something about it.

yea...instead of using profanity, just say something in the line of "your comp sucks. it cant even play HL1 on lowest video setting"
