I'm an animal lover (not physically you pervs!) and I couldn't stop myself from cramping up with laughter. I'm ashamed. I'm amused, but ashamed. I'm ashamed that I'm amused, but I'm amused none the less. As they say: No good deed will go unpunished. My daughters and I caught a catapiller in our garden two or three years ago, and fed it till it turned into a cocoon, and hatched into a huge white moth. It was a great way to teach them about nature, and metamorphosis, etc... We released it into the backyard one afternoon. As it flew away, and everybody was cheering on it's first flight, a flight to freedome, a bird swooped down, and grabbed it right out of the air. We never saw it again (thankfully). The shocked look on my daughter's faces will live with me forever. Thankfully, I had the sense, and maybe shock, not to laugh...at the time. When I think back on it now, I can't help but giggle at the irony of the situation. Well, birds have to eat too. I suppose there is another Nature lesson there too.
Don't feel too bad. You did the right thing by relocating it rather than destroying it. Judging by the film, it had about four glory filled seconds of freedom, and it lived them the way a squirrel does. 😉
