He makes this crazy coughing\barking noise if you touch him though. He really doesn't seem to like it. I discovered he had fallen into my trap when I got home a few minutes ago. His little squirrely fate rests in my hands...

EDIT: So the neighbor and I go to release the squirrel into the park...

I feel kinda bad, if he had never met me, he'd still be alive. Still, he's the dumbass that ran the wrong way. The other two ran into the park, just as planned. What are the odds that this would happen?
 
I give it 20 minutes until the next thread about, "I was bitten by a squirrel and it's bleeding like a son-of-bitch, what should I do?"
 
The coughing noise they make is called a "chuff".

When we were trying to catch one of the stray cats in the area we kept getting ground squirrels and skunks in the cages. It's only impossible to catch squirrels if you're trying to. 😛
 
shave its tail then let it go the other squirrels will laugh at him and call him stubby...he might die of shame though....
