Supposedly they were part of some dude's thesis or something? I dunno, but they're not commercially available... at least not yet or as far as I know, and I can't imagine the idea taking off. Basically they're little animatronic dolls that appear as if they're breathing and move slightly, with their back story being they're bioengineered human-animal chimeras in a chimically induced hibernative state. And they're fugly as hell.
 
I'm not sure if it's supposed to be funny, interesting, or what. It's just odd and looks like they put some work into it.
 
They're animatronic. Dolls with electronics. They don't actually DO anything other than small movements (breathing for instance). Someone posted a link the site of the guy that created them. He's got pics of the castings and electronics and sh1t.
