Supposedly they were part of some dude's thesis or something? I dunno, but they're not commercially available... at least not yet or as far as I know, and I can't imagine the idea taking off. Basically they're little animatronic dolls that appear as if they're breathing and move slightly, with their back story being they're bioengineered human-animal chimeras in a chimically induced hibernative state. And they're fugly as hell.
