This comes from a thread on another forum...

If one parent (male) is F1 and the other parent (female) is F2, parents unrelated to each other, then what generation do their offspring belong to? F2, F3 or something else...

I think it should be F3...

uh who's family tree are you studying the male or female?

since you are studying the male lineage and the female (F2) lineage shouldn't matter since they are unrelated.
