Not impossible nor improbable. Each parent inherited two set of genes, one from each of their parents. If both receive a gene for brown eyes from one of their parents, then those two having a blue eyed child would be unlikely(whats unlikely here is that they would have brown eyes). if only one received the gene for brown eyes, half their children will have brown eyes. For those that say everything thing they have learned tells you this is not possible, I hate to break it to you, but you were not paying attention in class.

Well, although I learned the same dominant/recessive gene logic in school - there are a lot of variations to eye color. If the only choices you had were BB, Bb, bB, and bb, then there would be no variations of browns and greens. I think the fact she has light green means she's got a rarely used dominant gene that contributes to brown eyes.

Either that, or she had an affair.

nothing. it was during the software problem they had the other night. anyone who started a thread asking about it got banned until they could sort things out.

The gene for blue eyes is a mutation of the gene for brown, so it's always possible for a blue eyed gene to mutate right back to brown.

Not many things are actually.

Yes, blue eyes are recessive, but that doesn't mean that one trait from your past relatives gets past down instead. It is rare, but it is possible.

That is flawed.
The gene for Brown eyes is dominate over the gene for blue eyes. A person with Blue eyes has NO Brown eye genes. However a person with Brown eyes can have a blue eye gene.
