*Only very few motherboards/chipset support memory modules made by x4 DRAMs (Intel and AMD chipsets DO NOT support x4 DRAMs).
That is the biggest load of crap.
I've been building and selling HTPC's with x4 sticks for months, and they worked in everything.
This reminds me of the Kingson Value ram package stating not compatable with Dual Channel.
All they are doing is hoping you skip the bait, and spend your money on their more profittable items.
Yes, there is a risk that cheaper memory won't pass memory tests, and then should not be used.
Much of this is because of the motherboard though, and not the memory.
Also, you may have problems mixing memory with cheaper sticks.
Still, I've had no issues mixing cheap 256 meg x4 stick with 128 meg x8 stick running dual channel.
But with the way these guys cut down the sticks, I wouldn't risk buying ANYTHING from them.
15 day warranty?
The x4 sticks I purchased from Outpost didn't have lifetime warranty, so I knew they weren't great, but at least they had a 1 year warranty.
