Generic PC150 better than "major brand" PC133?

Just curious... the stuff is hella cheap, and I need some more memory.. what was I saying? oh yeah.. memory. Need to get up to 256MB... I am gettign slow here for some reason... adn I am on a clean and fresh install of Win98.

I have noticed that Win98 is like a diaper... Change regularly or your computer will start crying.

I dunno what brand it is... it jsut says generic PC-150. I will not be overclocking, but I wanted to knwo if jsut having that memory vs the pc133 will show an improvement...

If your not overclocking, it probably WONT make any difference, because itll still run at 133mhz. By the way, will the kingmax run in CAS2?

Why get gereric PC150 or brand name PC133 when you can get brand name PC150 for about the same price?

Check Mwave.com, they have the Kingmax PC150 128MB for as low as $75.

kingz:
The Kingmax TinyBGA PC150 will do 150Mhz at 2-2-2.

Futuramatic:
If you run your RAM at XXXMhz CAS# as long as the RAM is stable at that speed it won't matter if it's roadkill's spayshul memry chipz or Mushkin Rev3.

If you want to overclock go for the more expensive PC150 RAM as cheaper, generic or PC133 won't make it to the same high bus speeds.

shiit, i went for the crucial 128MB PC133 SDRAM CAS2, only because it was cas2 and $13 cheaper. should i have gotten the kingmax? will i be regreting this later when my bus wont hit 115mhz?

kingz:

You probably should've gotten the Kingmax, but I doubt you'll hit 115MHz anyway. The Curcial is pretty decent as well so dont worry too much.
