Generic case

Get one that has separate case panels, not a u shaped case, those are the older ones, they arent as good for cooling,in that they suck.

Check out my post in the hot deals Mulch, My original one has a few reviews and photos of the Antec SX830 and SX1030 cases and a review. I am sold on Antec, but you are the one who has to live with your decision.

Here is the link to the thread. I hope this helps you out on your quest.

I have purchased mid towers in the past, TigerDirect and most recently Enlight, so I have finally come to the conclusion that a Full Tower with an adequate power supply and plenty of cooling option is the only way to go. The Antec cases offer almost all the benefits of Full Tower Cases but in a tower not much bigger than a mid tower.

You be the judge.

What about generic cases that come with barebones systems? Can I trust the electronic components of such cases? I'm particularly concerned about the quality of the power supplies.

Unfortunately, the psu quality is often the first thing to go when vendors assemble many of those generic barebones systems- price cutting is often paramount. This is just my own experience, there may be vendors who do it differently.

The best method is to know exactly what you are buying, generic bundles have generic descriptions for a reason...On the other hand, if you can find a bundle that exactly specifies each component and is what you want, go for it, you'll probably save a few bucks.

Occasionally, you will be pleasantly surprised. I am currently assembling a new system with a motherboard bundle from Mwave- customer specifies board, processor and memory, they include a "generic" HSF. That HSF turned out to be a AVC Mega-Cool, obviously a good unit, extremely similar to the Taisol that I bought separately from a different vendor.....I probably would have known that and saved a few more bucks had I gone to the trouble of contacting Mwave about it.

If you have questions about anything, contact the potential supplier, if you don't get straight answers, go elsewhere...

Thanks! Another question: Can power supply output / output from the wall vary so much that they cause slight fluctuations in monitor brightness from time to time??
