My little brother is 13, and he is overweight, to the point he weighs 218 lbs already. He will not exercise, and eats whatever he wants. Junkfood, soda, etc, and it just keeps getting worse. My sons on the other hand, are in the 90th percentile for weight of kids in america (meaning they are bigger than 90% of kids their age) but they are also there for height, they are just big boys. They eat right, and get lots of exercise, because I don't let them watch tv all day, only for 2 hours. The rest of the time is spent on homework, and playing.

In America, it's cool to be overweight. To be politically correct, you are not allowed to comment on people's weight. Everyone's all "accept them for who they are on the inside." Such an attitude allows obesity to spread, and prevents people from realising that this condition is unhealthy and sometimes dangerous. I don't have a problem with overweight people because their big, and I don't think everyone should look like an emaciated runway model. Howewer, to all those that think "big is beautiful," etc., I have this to say: it is unnatural, it is unhealthy and it is dangerous.

Don't go blaming it on fast food or genetics or whatever. You owe it to yourself to take responsibility for your well-being.
