I try to stay out of the PLO vs Israel argument because I think they both have their issues to deal with and emotions run pretty strong around here. IMO neither is totally wrong or totally right. Now if we paid(promoted) the families of bombers then I'd have a huge issue with it:)

I agree regarding the Pal vs Is issue - emotions run hot.

Think about this though: Saddam may have paid the families of suicide bombers (and one could argue that it was a humanitarian gesture, considering these families were now without their breadwinner - although, I think that argument is tenuous, at best), meanwhile the U.S. paid/promoted Israel's missile firings into civilian areas, targeted assassinations and bulldozing of houses/olive groves (amongst other horrors) via our selling of military equipment to Israel and guaranteed loans, etc.

We're just as complicit in the conflict as Saddam ever was. And that is precisely the argument much of the Arab world makes. It would be in our best interests to understand that. :)

Besides, I thought it was Clinton who started this "cover up" policy.

I suppose that's one way of spinning it. Who cares what Clinton started?

"And I'm very glad we've got the great team in office, men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice... people I know very well - our president George W. Bush. We need them there." - Clark in remarks delivered at the Pulaski County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 11, 2001

I wonder what he had to say about Waco? Nothing.... that's what. I couldn't find a single statement, although his troops were deployed to the Branch Davidian Compound.
