Fuck you. I'm dieting and now all I can think about is a cartoonishly oversized tin of GTC with broccoli and rice, and some fried dumplings.

Maybe some crab rangoon too, and a couple of egg rolls. mmmm...

I'm not sure why he's so surprised how thick the sauce got and how difficult the slurry was with all that corn starch. Does he not know what corn starch does?

Why go out and buy it? B/c it takes fucking 10 min to place the order and get your food.

Your method you have to go to the grocery store and buy all those products, then go home and prep them, then cook, then store left overs, then clean.

I'd rather throw $6 to have someone do all that.

No kidding. There are a couple places real close to my work that give you 2 meals worth of food for $7 out the door. AND you get a pop.

the majority of a typical chinese restaurant menu is polynesian. still, it's delicious and i don't mind piling the polynesian next to the chinese and japanese dishes :p

Really? I thought the vast majority of it was American (but in a complex, ethnic kind of way, the way pizza isn't really Italian, but it sort of is)

Shows what I know. v:pv

A good take-out version of this or kung pao chicken does not exist within a 30 mile radius of me. Let that be a warning for anyone considering southern Maine as a home.

The place closest to me had the balls to make it with white meat, nonetheless. Assholes.

You lost me at the House of Tsang General Tso's sauce. I want a good recipe where even the sauce is from scratch. I have a great on for Bourbon Chicken and it's one of my favorite things to cook and eat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Chinese_cuisine

Ming Tsai, the owner of the Blue Ginger restaurant in Wellesley, Massachusetts, said that American Chinese restaurants typically try to have food representing 3-5 regions of China at one time, have chop suey, or have "fried vegetables and some protein in a thick sauce", "eight different sweet and sour dishes", or "a whole page of 20 different chow meins or fried rice dishes". Tsai said "Chinese-American cuisine is 'dumbed-down' Chinese food. It’s adapted... to be blander, thicker and sweeter for the American public".

the guy is a hall-of-famer, but just because i agree with him doesn't mean i'm going to stop eating it :p
