General question re: form factors

Take two systems: in one, all components are ATX; in the other, microATX. What's the approximate difference in weight if everything other than form factor is identical?

That depends on the board and what's on the board and the number of layers in the PCB and the grade of components on the board.

How about you get the weight of every component in each system, add them up, and compare them?

And the main thing that drives weight is the case - example, steel vs. aluminum.

Go to the newegg.com website and look at the different weights for different cases. Motherboard weight difference should be less than a pound so the case is the main difference.
