So I got a 2000 GMC Jimmy that I bought at 12K miles, and a 2001 accord that I bought from the dealer at 33K miles. They are now at 75K and 83K miles respectively. So far, the only things I've done maintenance wise on these cars is as follows.
Accord:
rear brake pads
regular oil changes
air filter changes
Jimmy:
Replaced all brakes and rotors. Also replaced rear sticking caliper.
Flushed brake fluid.
Replaced serpentine belt
regular oil changes
air filter changes
Replaced alternator
Replaced thermostat.
Recharged A/C coolant.
All of the work listed above is stuff I've done myself. I have not done any transmission or fuel filter stuff on them. Dont know what the service history on the accord is. I figure it's about time for both of these cars to have some general service done on them, especially with the transmission.
What should I have done on these vehicles to keep them running for a good long time. They both run great right now. Is there anything I've completely missed the boat on, or am I just the typical lazy person when it comes to car maintenance?
