Are some of you afraid to address what he said and how it might affect the future Republican line? Does the party line need to change, should it be ignored and hope it goes away, does Patreus need to be assigned "outsider" status like Powell?

Of course they both should be cast out of the Republican party, one is a traitor and the other is an Uncle Tom, according to "the left".

Personally, there never was a time I didn't like Patreus, and I'm fairly liberal (though I don't really label myself that way, others here will.) Then again, I probably have a little more (not a lot) experience with the military than most here because I did a few years in ROTC.

What is the Republican "party line" on this issue and how does Patreus contradict it? I don't see it, but maybe you can convince me...

This thread is totally worthless.

Of course Petreus supports Obama's plan, that is his job!!! If he didn't support Obama's plan he would be asked to resign and give up his command. Anyone who does not understand this is an idiot.

Were you saying this when he was supporting Bush's policies?

Because the humor over the newly found leftist love makes so many of the idiots on this forum look like the tools they are. Besides, he was one of the ones responsible for developing the plan and telling it to bush when they had kept fucking things up over there, something yall dumbshits apparently can't grasp; along with the point that he is an active military officer and in the end will do whatever is told of him.

Oh OK, I read things the wrong way. So Reps are against closing Gitmo and for waterboarding. Some generalizations there but whatever.

I don't think what Patreus said will mean much to those people.

Well considering the fact that what he said about Bush's policies turned out to be the truth :)

These debates are unnecessary.

People who support torture of other human beings are worthless swine who will lead worthless swine lives groveling in endless fear that somewhere is a person untortured who secretly wants to take their life.

And for those who will give their lives to uphold the dignity of man there is the inner feeling of peace and joy that one lived up to the highest ideals.

The former will never understand the latter as darkness will never understand light.

You provide a list of the crimes that he's actually been charged with, and I'll tell you whether or not I agree with them. As I've said all along, if GWB was charged and convicted of a crime, I'd be right there with you calling for his head. Until then, you can stop blaming conservatives and start blaming the Democrats that refuse to do anything about these alleged crimes that have been committed by GWB. Conservatives don't have any power right now, Democrats do, direct your anger and hatred towards them.

I and others have posted lists of the Bushwhackos' crimes, including facts, names, dates and links establishing their guilt many times. You and the rest of the ethically challenged Bushwhacko ass lickers have denied them, regardless of the evidence.

Obviously, they weren't going to be prosecuted by the criminally corrupt Bushwhacko DOJ. They were up to their collective asses in committing the crimes.

I'm not going to waste anymore time with lying jackoffs like you. You'd just continue lying and denying the truth. I'll just hope the current DOJ and Congress pursue the Bushwhacko criminals and charge and convict them for every one of their crimes. I'll be watching for your apology when that happens.

That's why I bolded "crimes he's actually been charged with", put your glasses on grandpa.

Too bad you don't follow your own advice and read MY post. You can bold whatever text you want. I addressed your point from two different aspects. I said:

And what would I have to apologize for, I said "if GWB was charged and convicted of a crime, I'd be right there with you calling for his head.".

You could start by apologizing for eight years of denying the heinous crimes committed by your mercifully EX-Traitor In Chief and his criminal gang of traitors, murderers, torturers and war criminals.

You could continue by apologizing for eight years of continuous, willful blindness to the ever growing mountain of evidence in the public domain, including their own admissions.

Then, you could apologize for your dismal performance as an American citizen and a human being because, despite all of the evidence against them, you continued to support an administration that started a war based entirely on LIES that, as of 5/27/09, has cost the lives of 4,302 American troops and left tens of thousands more wounded, scarred and disabled for life.

:(

Finally, you could apologize for supporting an administration that committed cruel, immoral, inhuman acts of torture and other war crimes and crimes against humanity in furtherance of their illegal war.

Obviously the left ( ;) ) knows about these crimes yet they are still refusing to do anything about them, you need to update your macros to include the traitorous Democrats that refuse to do anything about your ex traitor in chief.

No, YOU need to update your reality to accept their guilt, which has nothing to do with the current status of their prosecution within the legal system.

If GWB committed any crimes then I certainly hope that he is brought to justice, it's currently in the hands of your beloved Democrats.

The word, IF in the above sentence is another thing for which you should apologize. There is no IF about whether they committed crimes. You have the timerity to tell me put on my glasses, but when it comes to the overwhelming evidence of the Bushwhackos' crimes, you keep your own eyes firmly glued to the inner lining of your lower intestinal tract. I wrote a song about your condition (no, not the song linked in my sig).

Can I Do It Til I need Glasses?

Words and Music by Harvey Rubens and Bob Vernoff

Verse 1:

Mama said she was alarmed,
When she caught me in the barn.
Now, you know she didn't come up from behind.

She said (Mama's voice) "That ain't the way I taught ya.
It's a good thing that I caught ya.
Don't you know, if you don't stop it, you'll go blind?

Chorus:

Can I do it 'til I need glasses?
Can I stroke my spoke, can I fiddle my twiddly-dee?
I want to do it 'til the girls start making passes,
'Til I need glasses, just let me be.

Bridge:

When I'm feeling low,
(Chorus) Where do you go?
Oooh, X-rated show.
(Chorus) Wouldn't you know!
Oooh, Down in the front row, here I go.
(Chorus) You'll be blind by the time you count to
(with heavy breathing) 1, 2, 3 .....

Chorus:

Can I do it...

Verse 2:

Papa told me man to man,
(Papa) "You'll grow hair upon your hands.
If you don't stop, you know you'll lose your mind."
Now, maybe there's something to it,
But it feels so good to do it that when they say,
(Chorus) "If you don't stop it, you'll go blind." I say,

Chorus:

Can I do it...

Sorry, but some of us still believe in due process and the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing. The Democrats are firmly in control of our entire government right now, you should be directing your anger towards them, not people posting their opinions on an internet message board. This is why people call you a hypocrite.

That's true for conviction and punishment in the criminal justice system. You can blather all you want about whether the monsters of the Bushwhacko adminstration have YET been convicted, but it doesn't change the reality of the evidence of their crimes and the facts establishing their guilt already in the public domain, regardless of the status any criminal prosecution.

AGAIN, why aren't the Democrats prosecuting him for these crimes??? Answer the question.

Not just "him" -- THEM, meaning the majority of the Bushwhacko administration, including Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales, Rove, Rice and many, many more.

You know as well as I do that pursuing their prosecution will take time, both to construct their case to the point where it is ready to present at trial and to overcome the political roadblocks continually thrown out by the right wingnut minority. I don't have to construct yet another "macro" to list every new revelation of their involvement in their myriad crimes, but every day, each new revelation brings new calls for their prosecution from members of Congress and the public.

Patience, child. It will happen. This will NOT go away.

Oh dear. Where do I start? Weren't you and your ilk complaining about the lack of "due process" for Gitmo detainees? If not, then I apologize for lumping you with that group, but here you are, declaring people guilty when no one has been convicted or even indicted on charges. No one is guilty of a crime unless convicted in a court of law. Nothing changes that basic fact -- least of all, your assertions and ridiculous name calling and borderline incoherent ramblings.

Bolded for emphasis. Who is the majority here? If the Democrats were truly interested in pursuing a case, they would be doing so. Let's assume for a moment that this extensive list of crimes and evidence does exist and is as damning as you claim. Why aren't the Democrats doing anything about it? Do you suppose that it could possibly be due to the fact that many of them were complicit in these incidents? Or perhaps they have no case?
