Hey everyone, I just built a new system and cannot get the GEIL ONE TCCD memory I purchased to run at CAS1.5 like it says its supposed to. I can only get it to run at CAS1.5 at 166MHz, not 200MHz. Any thoughts? Here is the system specs:

MOBO: ASUS A8N32-SLI
PROC: Toledo X2 4800+
VID: 2 X EVGA 7800GTX 512MB
MEM: GEIL ONE TCCD (2GB - 4 x 512MB)
TIMINGS: 1.5-2-2-5
VOLTAGE: Tried 2.6V - 2.95V

Thanks for any help .. if I can't get this mem to work at 1.5.. whats the point. I will just return it and get something that is about half the price for CAS2.

how much performance difference do you think there is between 1.5 and 2?

if you can get it to run at 1.5, let's see some results. i'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that there is pretty much no difference.

Tried it already. still didnt work :( Wouldn't you think that the mobo supports it though if it works at 166MHz?

I think you'll have to use ?A64 Tweaker? within windows to get the timing set right.

The only reason they are marketed at a CAS of 1.5 is to market the potential of the best speed binned TCCD modules and therefore the best 1:1 OC at 1T. They are basically the same sticks of RAM I have but guaranteed better quality, as they are speed binned at a higher grade.

FYI you do not buy these sticks to run a CAS of 1.5, you run them to get frequencies of CAS2.5 over 300Mhz 1T ;) and usually accompanied by a DFI mobo as they suggest.

hmmm.. maybe I will return and get something different then. What you think is the best to get then? BTW.. I can't run them at 1T for some reason either @ any frequency. Tried one stick at a time too with same results. These things get HOOOOT. Could only get them to 250MHz stable. Lots of problems with it- guess they were meant for DFI.

They are most certianly NOT meant for DFI. I have a Geil One tccd on my MSI Neo2 @ 2.5/310mhz/1T (i'm at work so i can't tell you the rest of the timings) and it absolutely rocks. I'm planning on picking up the A8n32 later this week and sticking my Geil in it... i hope i have better luck with it than you do.

wow! what a setup!! i wish i had that much $$$.

anyway, i upgraded my bios once, and it lost support for 1t command. i just used a64 tweaker to set it to 1t, and it worked fine. just use A64 tweaker.

just tried A64 and disabled 2T but it locked up as soon as I set it. That was as 2.5-3-3-6 timings.

Antistatic - you will have to get back to me as to how your a8n32-sli does. Feel like getting it tonight? :)
