GEFORCE2 GTS-V 4X/2X 32MB AGP - Price Drop to 46 bucks

I saw it too, the day after I got mine for $48. However, I also noticed that shipping went up from $5 to $6. The net diff is $1.00.

bought this card a few months ago when it was around $60....love it!
Highly recommend this card

I went from a 32MB ATI Radeon VE to this and my 3D Mark score more than doubled!

I'm also going to flaunt this card. At $46 it is a steal. I now have purchased 6 of these cards. They perform well. Tested to run Half Life, Q3, Jedi Knight II, Diablo 2 and Unreal Tourney all with eye candy on and it still performs.

It's also one of the most overclockable cards on the market.

Is that right? {rant] darn Newegg and their tricky little tactics! I know they are a good company with great service, but sometimes it seems they do things just to trick people. For example, i was looking for a Northwood processor for a friend and happened to look at the refurbed section and they actually had a refurbed OEM. Tthe strange thing was it costed more than the brand new oem one.... Same thing with that "some good some not" stuff they had not a while back. I feel when they do questionable things such as this, they jeopardize their good name. [/rant]

Well i maybe over reacting a bit though caused postal rates are getting higher....

Yep, Newegg plays fast and loose with their shipping rates. They're constantly changing things around to make some deals look better than they are and some to look worse. But the GTS-V card for $52 delivered is a good deal any way you look at it. I'm doing a budget rig for some relatives and ordered one Tuesday afternoon and it came this morning.

looking at this for the upgrade to the second computer... $40 less than a radeon 7500... doesn't have the performance of the 7500 but i'll probably be upgrading again in the fall and moving the ti200 down to the second computer... $46 for 4 months of much better gaming than i'm doing with my gf256 120/200... plus i think the gf256 is gonna eat it... it has to "warm up." its really dark when it starts running. i'm pretty sure its not the monitor, i should test that too, i suppose.

Does anyone have this thing hooked up to an LCD? I am thinking of getting this, but my next monitor will definitely
be an LCD, even if that may not happen in the near future. I am contemplating getting the Radeon VE from Newegg f
for $50, just for the DVI. What do y'all think?

I got the Radeon LE from Newegg about 3 1/2 months ago and it was like $65 then which I am decently happy with it (Ga-7dxr Duron 950@1.0gig 133 fsb 256 pc2100) it runs Max Payne good and I can oc it to about 175/175 which is close to stock radeon speeds. powerstrip sees it as a 7200. wonder how the GTS stacks up against this one. I am getting around 2250 3d marks 2001 at 1024x768 32bbp 32bit z-depth no -aa

anyhow seems like a good deal to me although i heard they run a little on the warm side.

<<wonder how the GTS stacks up against this one>>

My Creative Annihilator 2 GTS gets around 4000 points in 3dmark 2001.

I got the GTS-V from Newegg also and overclocked it to GTS level and I get around 4000 in 3d Mark. Great card for the money. Will hold me over until the Ti4200 cards come out and go down in price.

BUt From what I have read this card is slightly faster than a 7500 ati card. I don't know if that was overclocked or not. But I just updated the Bios to have it set at GTS levels, Ram and Core that is. I think I have mine at 200mhz core and 170mhz (340mhz DDR) Ram. I know I can go faster but this does what I need, and more.

can anyone comment on the improvement this card would have over a Radeon 32DDR? It'll be running on a tbird 1.2 w/ KT133A.

thanks

Nice deal. Personally I would rather have this GeForce2 Pro for $6.70 more though.

In response to the request regarding comparing the GTS-V to a Radeon, this chart will give you some idea of how the GeForce2 Pro stacks up against some of the Radeons. The chart does not include the GTS-V, though.

Here is a review of the GTS-V versus other GeForce cards and some Radeons.

I have a week-old geforce2 ti that i'd sell for $50+ship...the TI is the best of the gf2's. bought a gf3 ti200 a week after i bought my gf2 ti (got a good deal) so its been sittin in its original box doing nothing heh

I've been using the GTS-V with my ECS K7S5A now for over a month and I'm very happy with the performance. I get about 3650 with the 3dMark.

Regarding the price: it went down for me just after purchasing. Which leads me to a new idea: I am thinking of offering you fine folks a new service. Let me know what's in demand (like the XP2100+). I'll buy myself one. The price will instantly drop 10 to 15 percent. You can then make your purchase at a "discount" price. Then, you PayPal me one-third of your savings and we're both happy! You get a great price and I mitigate the extra money that I spent....

I can almost guarantee the price drop, as I have a stellar track record in this regard. Everyone up for it?

😀

I got the GTS-V (5ns chips) from the last deal. I'm hitting a 3DMARK of 4730 with an XP 1800+ & 512 of Crucial PC2100 RAM.

I'm happy for now, nice card overclocks well. Highly recommend it! 🙂

KLineD,

I was going to PM you about your GF2Ti card, but you don't have to seem to have your PM turned on. Anyway, send me a PM asap if this is still for sale. If not, I'm definitely jumping in on the $49 GF Pro card.

Aaron

I agree..... I bought this card a while back and it's runnin great, stable as hell overclocked to something another.... but I question why you would want this..... I remember seein a true GTS card somewhere around here for $49 perhaps a week ago.... a better card I beleive

yeah the cheap GTS card was a no-name one.

i have the 7ns gts-v and i clocked it to 230/360mhz with no problems.

i leave it on 200/300mhz and it runs all my games at 1024x768@32bit with ZERO hiccups.

i get around 90-100fps in Jedi Knigh 2 (q3 based engine)
