I have a friend who has a 1Gig Athlon with a Hercules Geforce2 GTS 64Mb vid card that keeps crashing. It gets hot, so i thought it could be a heat problem, but it runs fine in my BP6 (dual cel533) and my Optima (P3 450). I've "arctic silvered" the cpu, and it is running about 20 degrees cooler now, just becuase of the ArcSilver T.P (i couldn't believe it either). I dont think its the cpu, because sometimes when it crashes, the mouse pointer still moves around.
It has DX8 and the nVIDIA Detonators 3 installed, all the latest stuff.
Can anyone suggest anything? This guy is getting desperate, he's even thinking of selling his GTS and buying a TNT2 for gods sake!
