What about just getting a Geforce 3 Ti500 instead? Would that be faster than both the MX420 and the GF2 GTS?

ANY GF3, regardless of whether it is a regular GF3, Ti200/Ti500. would be faster.

I've got a GTS2 it's been running fantastic for ages, although in the latest games it struggles a bit but that's probably because my system is over all quite old 4years now.

I'd go with the GTS2 over the MX. But yes GF3 Ti300 or 500 is much better than the GTS2.

The Geforce2 GTS also has 2x anti-aliasing :) like the MX, but the MX is probably better in that department.

Just OC them and see how far ya get. My 32MB GTS gets to 225/390 MHz with 20% higher performance as a result - knowing this may affect the judgement considerably. Hope the MX has DDR :)
