GeForce2 GTS memory problems

I recently purchased the above card (annnihilator2 OEM). After installing it and loading Nvidia's Detonator3 drivers, however, the display properties detect the GTS card but only detect 16MB of onboard memory. The card clearly has 8 X 4MB infineon memory chips. Can anyone explain this discrepancy? Furthermore, does this mean that only half of the memory is being utilized? Thanks!
