>How did your video card go from 32 meg sdr to a 64 meg meg ddr?

Hi RadioactiveMagpie,
I ordered a 32Mb board. ENPC.COM sent a board marked "30001180" but I ordered one they listed as "Model No: 30001197". What I received didn't look like any of my other GTS boards. It has what looks like SDRAM. I thought I was screwed and immediately posted a warning about this deal.
Then I put it in one of my systems, and the 3DMark 2001 benchmarks are in line with GTS performance.
Sandra 2000, 3DMark 2001, and the Nvidia Display Properties app (right click on desktop) all see this board as a 64Mb GeForce2 GTS / GeForce2 PRO. The NVidia clock frequency utility shows that the board is set to the GTS defaults: 200Mhz CPU and 333Mhz Memory (166x2, as it is using DDR ram).
The weird thing is that is does seem to have SDRAM, but it is DDR (double data rate) SDRAM. Follow the GeForce FAQ link in the top post for info about DDR and SDR boards. There are 8 ram chips on the front of the board, and none on the back. Each of these ram chips has leads along only two sides. I've never seen another board like it, and a quick Google search on the part numbers came up blank.
I have four more GeForce and GeForce2 DDR boards here for comparison. They all have DDR SGRAM, with leads coming out on all four sides of each ram chip, and they all have four ram chips on each side of the circuit board.
I'd suggest waiting until we find out what other folks get before ordering one. Customer reviews suggest caution when dealing with this vendor.
