Geforce2 2D quality?

I've been going back and forth between video cards for the longest time, either the Geforce2 Pro 64 MB or the Kyro II. Yes, I know that the Geforce2 Pro is slightly faster in some areas, but it's really not enough to be noticeable and important to me with the CPU I'll have. As far as 2D goes, I've heard various things, though. For those that run Geforce2 cards, any model, what kind of 2D quality do you have? I have a Voodoo3 3000 right now, and the 2D is great (I liked my Matrox I had before this better, however), but I've heard that Geforce2 cards have a somewhat washed out look to them in plain 2D graphics. True or no? What are people's experiences?

well anything above 1024x768 and you start to see fuzzy text. dont know a kyro though, my GF3 has great 2d at 1600x1200 though

Hercules Prophet II Ultra... 2d is acceptable at 1024x768 but is very bad beyond that resolution. It's actually the worst $700 I ever spend.

Monitor is a Philips 109P20 Brilliance, which works great on Matrox G400Max

2 popular cards that are complained about often for poor 2d, are Creative GF2 and Hercules GF2.

Cards without complaints are Elsa, Visiontek, and Leadtek, and perhaps more.

I've seen plenty of people bemoaning the quality Of the Vteks - myself included. The 2D quality issues from Vtek haven't stopped at GTS either; as this thread shows they appear to have quality issues with GF3 even.
