Running fine. My GF3 OC to 225/510, using coolbits. 28.32 drivers installed. Every game runs fine. Including GTA3.

I download the program, select best quality. I load GTA3 and the performance sucks. So now I decide to OC from 215/525 just for the hell of it. I Load GTA3 and it loads, the opening movies plays fine. Than the screen gets all messed up. Lines all across screen. OK, I back down to 210/525. Restart, load the game.... SAME THING. I remove the Utility. Restart. SAME THING. Remove GTA3. Restart. Re-install the game. AND THE SAME THING!

removed coolbits.. * deleted out of registry* .. went back to default Speed settings* restarted PC and GTA3 still doesn't work.
I can't get the game to run now..... arrgh

PLS HELP ME!

BTW, I can run any other game fine. JK2, RTC, Quake 3....

Windows XP.... Gainward GF3

Many times when you uninstall a game, it will leave a folder on your drive that has a file or 2 of custom settings. I suggest uninstalling using the Add/Remove Program tool in the Control Panel, going into explorer and manually deleting any leftover folders that the uninstall left behind. Clear your windows>temp folder of all files and folders. Re-install.

You removed the utility, but did you set all the settings back to default before removing it? If I remember right, that prog changes many things in the registry. Simply removing the prog does not put the reg entries back to where they were. I don't use that prog, so I may be totally wrong. 😱 I think you have the option of saving your current settings before tweaking, so if something goes horribly wrong (like this) you can go back to where you were.

Fixed it

I had a ghost image of a good installation of XP, about a week old. Just applied that, re-installed the game and it worked fine.

And the program didn't have a default setting tab...
