geforce ti 500

leadtek geforce 3 ti 500 is the best. Period.

best place...thats a GOOD question...i spent the last two days searching on pricewatch..and you may have more luck finding the holy grail than finding a retailer who has the leadtek gf3 ti 500 in STOCK...and CHEAP... (i am speaking a max. $320)

I found ONE retailer and ordered the card....and i do not know about if they have the card in stock yet..but their price was great...it was $317 plus (only!) $8 shipping ! (www.iitem.com). The only review about them i found on resellerratings...there was someone saying that this is a ok vendor. So i just trusted him and ordered yesterday.

I know that axiontech, atacom and newegg ALL did NOT have the leadtek in stock over the weekend..maybe they have now.

What makes you say that?!
First of all, all boards have the same performance, so no advantages there.
Second of all, they have a crappy heatsink design, where the heatsink covers BOTH the GPU and RAM, thus allowing the heat from the GPU to spread to normally-cool RAM. This has a negative impact on overclocking. It's like having your Athlon share the heatsink with RAM - the latter will just melt 😉

Take a look at this for comparison, too:

ok

i read reviews eg. on rivastation.com (in german).

They tested the older (not TI) cards...and leadtek was always a HINT faster than all the others. Of course i know there are no HUGE differences...but also from what i've read right now...many people claim (and swear) on LeadTek...its also said to have a better 2d performance and maybe better picture quality than other cards.

Re the cooling: I know about that, too.

The older Leadtek GF3 (even if always a tad faster, even faster and better than eg. gainward cardexpert golden sample) had crappy coolers on them.

Leadtek re-designed theit coolers with the new TDH series (the old ones)...so they gave their cards better heatsinks and coolers. This better coolers (which were the only flaw about leadtek actually) are now also on the new TIs...so i just assume that these cards are the best !!!! (As said..i did SOME reading 😉

There was also another review on some major website (sorry..forgot which one)...where they even mentioned the 'good and effective cooling system' oft the leadtek cards.

2) another criterium getting the leadtek for me is also the fact that it comes with two full games...dont know about the other brands....but for me this card just looked very good compared to others.
