What 9800 SE are we talking about? A Sapphire 128 bit SE? Even still...driver problem?

Something's wack; either your settings or drivers are wrong. If you switched from the 440 to the 9800SE, you may not have cleaned out the NVIDIA drivers properly...

doesnt the mx440 run in dx 7 or 8
where the 9800 is kind of a slow dx9 card
run it in dx 8 if u can and then you can compare

Not for any of those games.

UT2004, for example, is one of those games that gets better with 'brute force' cards - the faster the card, the faster the performance.

PCMaker - are you comparing at the same resolution/AA,AF settings/etc ? Because if you are, then there must be a driver problem, ie you didn't fully uninstall the nVidia drivers before you put the ATI card in and there is a conflict. There is no way a GF MX should be faster than a 9800SE at anything game related.

Also make sure your AGP aperture is set to at least 128MB (preferably 256MB, especially if you have 512MB or more system memory).

I have a 9800SE Sapphire 256-bit and it plays games 50x better than my Radeon 8500LE 128MB card and my Radoen 8500LE 128mb is better than the MX440 (From experience with friends card anyway with same processor and slightly lower ram)
