The Asus 580's i have use 3 slot cooling which is why the spacing is rough.

As yes, those are quite large.

But I do think a lot of these 590 will need to use 3 slot cooling as well. I don't know if I would buy one with less.

Also, with your setup, have you considered water cooling?

Sorry I was a little off , the reviewers are getting the cards this week (about the 23rd).
The good news is we should start seeing performance leaks/pictures this week.

I hope they launch the card before PAX. There is no reason not to, unless they are just buying time cherry picking low power cores and waiting for the 6990 release.

You're sounding like that guy you used to complain about who posted statements with no evidence to back it up.

My evidence is under NDA :hmm: Anyway like I said, there is a gtx590 card and it will release soon and thats with no official announcment. That was my point to all the nay sayers that said "it could not done".

Are you still in denial?

Is the GTX490/495 still under NDA, too?

I was never in denial that it could appear. I just didn't/don't expect it to appear until it appeared, whatever the rumours.

Probably. I can't get the pair of 580's i have at home to run in SLI because of the spacing

You'd be better off getting 3 580s. Considering these specs are a rumor and the inconsistencies with the idea of how this card will come decked out with two $500 GPUs and the end cost of the card having to be in the area of $900+.

Good money tri-sli 580 will still be the best setup. Historically this has been the case with nvidia since the days of the 8800GTX.

As per Napoleon from Chiphell, who is rarely wrong:

GTX 590 is coming with two GTX 570 cores, not 580s.

Probably true because NV's scaling drops off significantly once you exceed 3 cards. At the same time, if someone is using 3 GPUs+, I am guessing they are already running at least 1x 2560x1600 monitor. If that's the case, it's very hard to beat 3 x $260 HD6950s unlocked to HD6970. That's ~ $800 vs. tri-sli 580 for $1400+ or sli GTX590s for $1500+.

I really don't see the point of the GTX590 except for those who only have 1 x PCIe slot / there isn't any room for alternative setups.
