I just got a AOC e2043Fs monitor 1600 x 900 res the PC I am currently building will have a GTX 570 graphics card.

Is it worth me taking back the monitor and getting a 1080p or will 1600 x 900 be ok.

Thanks.

Take it back immediately and get a 1920x1080 monitor. 1600x900 is horrible for a desktop; even 1680x1050 is significantly better. Going from 1600 to 1920 lines of horizontal resolution will make a huge difference in normal use and gaming.

For my current 1680x1050 monitor I got a GTX 460 as that's enough to push all games to max settings except poorly coded ones (Metro 2033, I'm looking at you). For 1600x900, there's just absolutely no sense in getting a GTX 570. Get a 1920x1080 monitor.

take it back and get a 1920x1080 monitor considering you will probably keep it for several years. 1600x900 is okay for a basic low budget pc but gaming on a screen that small when the rest of your system is high end makes no sense. plus a larger screen and 1920x1080 is way more productive just for daily use.

Not a good balance IMO...the 570 is not needed at that resolution, so either pair the 16x9 screen with a lower-power (cheaper) GPU or pair the 570 GPU with a higher res (19x10 or 19x12) screen.
