It would be even sweeter if it required only one power connector.
Suddenly 2X560s is looking much more sweet than a 580. Oh decisions decisions.....
384 shaders, 64 TMU's, Higher clocks and shader domains. Should easily give it 20% over 460.
The gtx 560 must be comming sooner then we think the gtx460 768 is 134$ on newegg and 115$ AR with a free Hawx 2 game.
Mabe they are gettig rid of inventory?
Yup.
I heard that a gtx460 is basically a fully-enabled and higher-clocked gtx460, about 15-20% faster than a stock gtx460
gtx560 is NOT gf104. gtx460 = gf104
no they would never use a cut down gf110 for a gtx560 unless they literally had a mountain of them piling up in the warehouse that they could use for free, and even then, it would be like the gtx465 all over again... unnecessarily large power draw
So you believe this story about a gf114 chip for the gtx560 and lower end?
I would think they would just use fully enabled gf104 chips, but mabe they can't get the yields on the gf104 die?
I believe your right about the gf110 for gtx560's , something tells me yields are good for this chip and they don't want another gtx465 fiasco anyway.
From what i've been reading with GF110. They're getting amazing overclocks on air with it so GF114 hopefully should do over 1Ghz core quite easily
You do realize it has been getting around or below 10% overclocks since it was just raised clocks from the 480, right?
I posted this in the other thread in response to you saying pretty much the same thing you did here.
"All they did was raise clocks", added another 32 shaders, another 4 TMU's, another polymorph engine, and anything else that came with enabling the 16th SM. All the while using less power.
Still think all they did was raise clocks? If you're going to have this conversation, at least keep it real. If you can't, then don't have it.
In other words, please stop propagating fud. Thanks in advance.

Maybe they are getting rid of inventory?
More like a fire sale so they can increase their DX11 card marketshare. That and that there is a ton in 460 inventory since GF104 is a very good chip for NV (high yielding and highly clockable).
Looking at the current Steam HW survey (not a good comparison, but it's all we got to go by) AMD still reigns supreme in DX11 marketshare. All GTX4xx cards make up 18.02% which is even less than the 57xx series itself (31.88%). But since the 68xx series are just flying off the shelves (according to a Fry's employee) I expect NV's DX11 growth to stagnate a little.
I'd buy they are moving inventory in prep for a 560 launch than trying to increase their DX11 marketshare. Considering how small the overall market is going by steam results.
I will never buy a amd card ever. I tried it twice for two months and it didnt feel right. I will wait on nvidia no matter what problems they are having. Bonafide geforce.
I totally hear ya on this one. I went from a 8800gt to a hd4850 and I hated it. Everything was real buggy, I went back to Nvidia with a 9800gtx+ and was a happy camper again
I'm really excited for 560. Looking forward to it. I just built a 2500K based machine and it is phenomenal.
I think the 560 would be a perfect match for this system, and maybe another one in the future 😉
Any idea when I might be able to get my hands on one of these? XFX, ASUS, eVGA? Who is gonna be makin' them this time around?
i get a GTX 560 Ti sample......
it's very insteresting ~GTX 560 Ti>GTX 570 in 3D Mark 11
now have wait for NV NDA@1/25:sneaky:
