Ok recently I got a geforce fx5200 and I noticed that while playing games, after about 2 or 3 minutes I get these blue patches all over the textures and such. I'm guessing its a heat problem, but I dont have it overclocked, and I tried reapplying thermal paste, but it didnt make them go away.

I also tried changing drivers, I went to omega drivers, but that didnt do anything but make me framerate go up. The blue patches still remained.

What else can I do?

Lots of games use a checkboard pattern in place of a missing texture. Make sure it's not just one game doing it.

I didnt buy it, my friend used it before me, and he got a new card, so he gave me his old one.

And ive tried it with multiple games, same thing. In fact in some games I get these wierd planes of stretched textures going across the screen, as if random geometry was being added.

hell yeah! i had a previous 5200 fx, then got a 6800 gt. what a HUGE difference! the image quality looks just as crisp and beautiful in games with the 5200 but its the fact that it won't get good fps at all. definelty upgrade.
