MSI Geforce 8800GTS 640MB overclocked version
*INCLUDED* Company of Heroes

Now, if it didn't include any software bundle and was $300 shipped with no rebate, I'd be all over this. 😛 Alas I'll just have to keep myself warm with my three 8800GTS 320MB cards... heck, I'm not even using all of them.

the 8800 line is already Slix3 capable NV just hasn't implemented it yet and there are few if any boards with three pcie x16 slots, my GTX has two sli bridge connectors, if i'm not mistaken all the rest do as well.

Looks like a good deal.... some good games coming out this month .. i haven't read anything about geforce 9 comming out so...thinking i might bite... i hate rebates though.

good find op

Deal is pretty good. Im hoping by November itll be 300 with no rebate. Gonna wait it out just a little bit longer. Im looking for another for Sli.

wonder if the vista hate continues will lead msft to release dx10 for xp too....is nvidia gearing the geforce 9 series to vista too?

anyway it sucks the high end nvidia cards gonna again come out first then release the low end...finally toward geforce 10, the affordable price/performance mid range will be out

They are competitive. You just have to know how they compare. 😛 For instance, 2600XT cards can be had for about $100 without any rebates. Sure, it isn't an 8600GTS killer, but the 8600GTS starts at around $150 before rebates.

I think he means competitive at the level of this 8800gts.
No doubt ati make nice cards, just picked up a 2400pro for a htpc build, easily best bang for the buck for hd decoding.
The pwr requirements on their high end cards and dx10 performance scare me though.

Ordering this mama jamma now, thnx op.

Competitive at that level depends on how long the 2900 Pro cards stick around.

Alot of people have bought or will buy Vista based largely upon wanting DX10 capabilities. If they released DX10 for XP, I'd think that less people would move to Vista anytime soon and it'd only hurt Vista sales. I'm not saying its completely impossible, but I wouldn't bet money on it happening.
