GEForce 7600GT 256MB versus GEForce 7600GS 512MB

I'm a beginner and was building a machine for the first time... need some advice. Is it better to go in for a GEForce 7600GS 512MB card or GEForce 7600GT 256MB card?? I've just bought C2D 6600 processor and Audigy 2 ZS audio card... thats about it.

I'd say go for the 7600GT. The 7600GS isn't really fast enough to take advantage of the 512MB ram.

Since you're new, you might as well learn your first lesson in video card buying: Just because a card has more RAM does NOT make it better. If you see a ton of RAM on a cheap card, that card is most likely crappy.

256MB 7600GT is also Vista Ready.

I'd go with the xfx, I'm sure the MSI is good too though.

Out of the three, Gigabyte.

But you should look for EVGA/Leadtek/BFG. Leadtek/EVGA KO edition uses a different cooler which is much better than the stock cooler.
